Who we are

Chaldea is operated by Seismic LLC, 138 Delta Ave, Paonia, CO 81428, United States. Chaldea Software, the name shown on this site, is a trade name of Seismic LLC. We decide how the personal information described here is used, and we are responsible for it. You can reach us at hello@chaldea.ai.

Information we collect

We collect your email address and, if you add it, your name. For your chart we store your birth date, your birth time or a note that it is unknown, and your birthplace with its coordinates and timezone. We also store the charts you save, your conversations with Chaldea, your journal entries, chat memories if you turn memory on, your notification settings, and your subscription status.

When you ask for a result to be read aloud or made into audio, we store the audio file we generate. We also record how the service is used, such as the features you open and the pages you view, and technical information such as your device type, browser, approximate country, and error reports.

If you add a chart for someone else, such as a partner, a relative, or a child, we store the birth data you enter for them in your account. We use it as this policy describes, including sending it to our AI provider when you ask for a result about them. Add another adult’s details only with their permission, and a child’s only if you are their parent or guardian.

Where the site lets you cast a chart before signing up, that chart is stored in your browser until you clear your site data or save it to an account.

How we use it and our legal basis

We use this information to run Chaldea: to calculate charts, generate the readings and answers you ask for, sign you in, manage subscriptions, send the email described below, prevent abuse, fix errors, and keep the service reliable. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, these are our legal bases. We provide your account, readings, chat, and paid features because you asked for them, under our contract with you. We rely on legitimate interests to secure the service, prevent abuse, fix errors, and understand how Chaldea is used, weighed against your rights. We rely on your consent for optional email you choose to receive and for chat memory. We keep some records because tax and accounting law requires them.

Email and tracking

If you have a paid plan, your daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly forecast emails are switched on when your account is set up. The first time you save your birth data, a free trial of the daily forecast email begins and that email is switched on. After the trial ends, a free account that leaves it on receives one forecast email each Sunday. Important-transit alerts, and forecasts for a partner or family members, are sent only if you turn them on.

Product-update email is on unless you turn it off. A note after your trial ends is sent only if you ask for it. Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link, including one-click unsubscribe, and you can change them in Settings.

The daily forecast email, the Sunday edition, and the note after a trial contain a small image that records whether and when the message was opened. We use it to see whether our email is read and to stop sending email that goes unread.

Service providers and AI

We share information with the providers that run parts of Chaldea for us, and only what each one needs. Supabase stores our database and runs sign-in, in the United States. Vercel hosts the site and measures its page views and page speed. Google Gemini generates readings and chat answers. Sentry receives error reports; session replay is off, and reports are set up without default personal identifiers or request bodies. Resend delivers our email. Stripe processes web payments. Apple processes App Store purchases under Apple’s own privacy policy. Google and Apple run their sign-in options if you use them. Cloudflare Turnstile runs a bot check when you sign up or sign in with email. Geoapify turns a typed birthplace into coordinates, and OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service does the same when Geoapify cannot answer. OpenAI turns text into audio when you ask for it; we may use another text-to-speech provider for the same purpose.

When you ask for a reading or use chat, we send Google the chart for that request (birth date, birth time if you gave one, birthplace, coordinates, and timezone) and the conversation. That includes a chart you saved for someone else. For a birthplace lookup, we send only the typed place name and a label that identifies Chaldea, not your account. When you ask for audio, we send only the text of the reading to be spoken. These providers process information for us under their own terms.

International transfers

Our database is in the United States. If you use Chaldea from outside the United States, your information is processed there, and it may also be processed in other countries where the providers above operate. Where UK or EU law requires a safeguard for that transfer, we use the Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated in our providers’ data processing terms.

Cookies and on-device storage

We use cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. Your browser also stores your theme, your workspace layout, and any guest chart described above.

Our own page-view analytics do not set cookies. They keep a random visitor code in your browser’s local storage and a session code that lasts only for the visit. They record the pages you view and the campaign details in the link you followed. We do not store your IP address with these records; we keep only an approximate country and the general type of your device, browser, and operating system. This page-view tracking switches off when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Vercel’s page-view and page-speed tools also run on the website.

Retention and security

We keep your account, charts, conversations, journal entries, chat memories, and settings until you delete them or delete your account. Deleting your account removes them from our live database. Copies in backups expire within 30 days.

Audio we generate for you is deleted after 24 hours, unless it is a podcast you save. Saved podcast audio is kept for 400 days from the last time you save it. If you delete your account, those audio files are no longer linked to it and are deleted on the same schedule. Page-view records are deleted after 400 days. Product usage records are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, the usage and page-view records we keep are no longer linked to it. Security and error logs are kept for up to 90 days. Our email provider, Resend, keeps its copies for 30 days, and our error-monitoring provider, Sentry, keeps its copies for up to 90 days.

We keep subscription and transaction records where tax or accounting law requires. App Store subscription records we keep after you delete your account are no longer linked to it. Stripe and Apple keep their own payment records. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can update your profile in Settings and delete your account under Settings → Account. Deletion removes your account and the content we store for it, as the retention section describes. Providers that already received a copy, such as our email, payment, and error-monitoring providers, may keep it for their own periods. You can turn chat memory off and delete saved memories in Settings.

Deleting your account cancels a web subscription billed through Stripe, so it will not renew. It does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in your Apple Account settings.

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you can ask to see, correct, or delete your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. There is no self-service download yet, so email us and we will send you a copy. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

If you live in California, you have the right to know what we collect and to ask us to correct or delete it. We collect identifiers (your email, your name if given, and your account id), commercial information (your subscription status), internet activity (usage, page views, campaign details, and email opens), approximate location (your country), and the birth data and content described above. We use them only for the purposes in this policy. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can appeal if we refuse a request, and we will not treat you differently for making one.

To make any of these requests, email hello@chaldea.ai from the address on your account. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you.

Age

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly let a child open an account. A parent or guardian may keep a child’s chart in their own account. If you believe a child has opened an account, email hello@chaldea.ai and we will delete it.

Sensitive information

Birth details, other people’s charts, journal entries, and conversations can be personal. We use them only to produce the astrological interpretation you ask for and to run your account. We do not use them to build a profile of your health, mental health, or finances, and a reading is not a health record. Please do not submit medical or clinical information. You can delete a chart, a conversation, or your whole account.

If there is a breach

If a breach of personal information happens that the law requires us to report, we will tell the people affected, and the regulators the law names, within the time the law sets.

Changes

We will post any change to this policy here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will email the address on your account before it takes effect where the law requires notice.
